We were met by Ray who took us out and up to the Atherton Tablelands. It was a long drive, climbing steadily from the coast up to the plateau. Some of the views are spectacular (if a bit overcast).

We stayed at the Chambers Lodge, the premier location for pademelons, sugar gliders, honeyeaters, and the ever-present scrub turkeys. We settled in for the night and tried to get a good night's sleep for an early start in the morning. Here's a good sample of one of the braver pademelons just off the deck of our cabin. He's about the size of two medium rabbits.
