State park on Jersey City waterfront. Boating, canoeing, crabbing, fishing, picnicking. Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal Museum and Liberty Science Center are here. Access by ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Interpretive center has exhibits of Hudson River ecology. Liberty Natural Area preserves one of the remaining salt marsh environments in the area.

Boat access to Monksville Reservoir.

From Parkway: Northbound, Exit 153A, Southbound, Exit 153, east 4 1/2 miles on NJ 3, take second NJ 17 South exit; at traffic light, continue straight on Polito Ave., then follow Turnpike directions.

Joint New York-New Jersey park. New Jersey section encompasses 11 miles of towering cliffs along the Hudson River. Fishing, boat basin, hiking, picnicking at Alpine and Englewood-Bloomers areas. Hiking, fishing, picnicking, playground, boat launching ramp at Ross Dock. See also Fort Lee Historic Site.

From Turnpike: Use local lanes, at northern end continue north 4 miles on I-95.
Ross Dock, use Exit 73 (NJ 67/Fort Lee); merge onto Bruce Reynolds Blvd. (Bridge Plaza South) and continue to end; turn right on Bigler St. and stay in left lane; turn left on Main St. and stay in left lane; when road widens look for "Welcome to Edgewater" sign on left; turn left at sign; road immediately splits, stay to left; continue 3/4 mile on Henry Hudson Dr., cross under George Washington Bridge; at traffic circle, follow signs to Ross Dock.

The former estate of William and Martha Brookes Hutcheson features field and woodland hiking as well as a formal garden designed by Mrs. Hutcheson, one of the first female landscape architects in the country. Adjacent to Willowwood Arboretum.

From I-287: Northbound, Exit 22B, Southbound, Exit 22, merge onto US 202/206 North and get into left lane; after 1 mile, US 202 and US 206 split; continue north on US 206 3 miles to fifth light; turn left on Pottersville Rd. (Co. 512 West) and continue 1/2 mile; take first right onto Lisk Hill Rd. and continue to end; turn right on Union Grove Rd. and continue 1/4 mile to Y intersection; bear left onto Longview Rd. and continue 1/2 mile to Willowwood entrance on left; continue another 1/2 mile on Longview Rd. to Bamboo Brook entrance.

From I-287: Northbound, Exit 22B, Southbound, Exit 22, merge onto US 202/US 206 North; keep left and continue north on US 206 10 miles to Chester; at light, turn left on Co. 510/Co. 513 West (Main St.) and continue 1 1/2 miles; cross Black River and turn left onto Parker Rd., then make immediate left onto State Park Rd. and go 2 miles to park entrance.

Eastbound, Exit 27, turn left onto NJ 183 North, continue 1/2 mile through Netcong; after crossing Musconetcong River, bear right on Brooklyn Rd. (Co. 602) and continue 2 miles to end; turn right on Lakeside Blvd. (Co. 607) to park on left.
Westbound, Exit 28, merge onto Co. 631 North (Landing Rd.) and continue 1 mile to traffic light in Landing; bear left to stay on Co. 631 (Lakeside Blvd.); continue 1/2 mile on Co. 631, then an additional 1/2 mile straight on Co. 607 North to park on right.

Northern end of 50-mile Batona Trail, which connects Byrne, Wharton and Bass River State Forests. Periodic events held at Whitesbog Village, once a thriving blueberry and cranberry operation.

350-acre preserve in a heavily-developed area on the Delaware River features both woodland and wetland environments. Migrating and nesting birds may be observed on the park's trails along with other wildlife, including snakes, turtles and frogs.

From Turnpike: Exit 4, merge onto NJ 73 North (Camden/Philadelphia) and continue 6 1/2 miles into Palmyra; at last light before Tacony-Palmyra Bridge toll booth, turn right on Souder St. and continue two blocks; turn left on Temple Blvd.; just before bridge toll plaza, bear right into toll building parking area; continue behind toll building down access road, pass under bridge to park entrance.
