The History of Story
& Lee Furniture and Appliances
It all began in 1970 when brother-in-law Jimmy Story
and Orville Lee purchased an old 3,000 sq. ft. existing
business, "Ab's Trading Post". With no previous furniture
experience, Jimmy and Orville, along with their wives
operated the store based on the idea that people want
good service, quality products, and friendliness.
25 years later and almost 25 times larger than the
first little building, Story & Lee still operates with
that philosophy. Now managed and run by the young men
who were toddlers in 1970, Story & Lee employs approximately
100 people in three locations: Leoma, Waynesboro, and
Fayetteville, TN.
What keeps people coming to this store in a tiny Tennessee
town? A tremendous selection of top quality furniture
and appliances, plus the fact that all employees have
learned and believe that treating customers with respect
and earning their trust is the most important aspect
of maintaining a business. And, at Story & Lee Furniture
