I came up with a way to accomplish a Fino swap in the shortest amount
of time, so the car can be back on the road ASAP. The '84 is my parts
car and the '85 will be the fino.
do these things first to prepare for the swap:
hood
-swap hinges from `85 to fino. use `84 hinnges on `85
(this is just to fix my broken hinges)
-install latch from 84 into fino body
-cut out notch for hood in 85
front clip
-install headlights from 84 into fino bodyy
-install parking lights from kit into finoo body
-install blinkers from cougar into fino boody
-remove wheel wells from 85
-remove crash bumper from 85 and re-installl nose
doors
-install handles from 84 into fino body
-free up all door screws on 85 (easy with T35 bit)
-install side mirrors (at least driver sidde) from 84 into fino body
-remove rocker panels from 85?
rocker panels
-create lift points on 85 for lowered finoo with rocker panels
-dont need this fino body part initially?<
rear clip
-do custom work on fino body to remove saiils
-install brake, parking, backup, license pplate lights from 84 into fino body
-remove interior ceiling from 85 to get att roof bolts? (fix 3rd brake light)
-remove wheel wells from 85
-remove any sail stuff like the glass?
(at least remove interior panel to get at glass bolt)
deck lid
-install lock from 84 into fino body
-remove tension spring from 85
rear bumper
-remove crash bumper from 85
-remove bumper cover from 85?
-cut out exhaust holes in fino body
-dont need this fino body part initially?<
gas cap lid
-use just fiero lid initially

then, to swap bodies:
front
-remove front fenders, nose, headlights, hhood from 85
-cut out headlights from 85
-install fino front clip & hood. hook up lights.
middle
**do stock doors fit with fino front? with fino rear?
-remove door panels from 85
-install fino door panel. hook up handless and mirrors.
rear
-remove rear clip & deck lid from 85
-install fino rear clip & lid. hook up ligghts.
now you can drive it, but go back and finish it:
-rocker panels
-rear bumper
-gas cap lid
-passenger side mirror
-paint
-wheel wells
