It would be cool to get a sequential gearbox like this Viper has from http://www.quaifeamerica.com which goes for $15,295. Their cheapest is $9,695 and only $2,200 more than the H-pattern. But i dont know if they make one that would fit in the Fiero.

My car has the M19 performance 4-speed tranny that only came in some '84s. It has the highest axle ratio (4.10) ever offered in a Fiero, so I will want to change it for better fuel economy.

The bigger tires in the back will help somewhat as the Engine RPMs at 60MPH will go from 2773RPM down to 2604RPM, but i would still prefer 2038RPM from the Getrag or best of all 1900RPM from the 1984 MY8 4-speed economy transmission!

I will put on an MY8 when i install the V8 because i got one cheap from Kick Hill Farm. The 3.32 ratio can be identified by looking at the color of the speedometer gear. Blue means 3.32, red(?) means 4.10. Eastwood said not to paint the transmission because paint will prevent it from dissipating heat.

I've been told the MY8 is a dog and i wont be happy with it. My new Fiero came with a M17. I'd rather a 5 speed but i'll go with the M17 for now.
