Predator Calls. . .
To improve your viewing pleasure, let the pages load completely and then hit your refresh button.
The sounds that predators callers use to bring in the meat-eaters are varied and every caller seems to have their very own favorite sound they swear by. The sound you heard when you opened this page is one of my long time favorites. . . a baby javelina in distress.

The are two bassic types of predator calls, hand calls and electronic calls.
Hand Calls. . .
Most callers starting out in the sport start out with a hand call. Hand calls are inexpensive, and with just a little prctice, anyone can be dragging in predators by their ears in short order. Most experienced hand callers soon develop their own calling style and have their favorite brand of call they use. Below is just a small example of the great calls available today. . .
Sceery Game Calls
The above call is one of my favorities,  made by my good friend Ed Sceery. The particular call is a variable pitch model that let's the caller control the amount of high and low pitched sounds emitted.
The call on the right, is a classic example of the great custom made calls available to predator caller today. This call is from Rhino Calls, owned and operated by a good buddy of mine. . . Mr. Jay Nisteller.
Rhino Calls
Rich Cronk, of Cronk Calls, also makes some top of the line custom calls. I for one, really like his cow horn coyote howlers. . .
Cronk Calls
I don't use a hand call much any more myself and I certainly don't claim to be an expert on the use of them. But. . . I can tell you that hand calls are an effective means to lure predators to your stand and the use of them brings a tremendous sense of accomplishment.

For more information on the use of hand calls, I suggest you go to
PosseCountry, . . where you'll find tons of hand callers just waiting to give you some advice.

Now for moving on to the subject of electronic callers, please follow the link below to find out about equipment and sounds. . .
