AzWill's  HUNTING THE HUNTERS
Electronic Callers. . .

The use of electronic callers is a subject I can sink my teeth into. Like most callers, I got started calling predators with a hand call. . . as time pasted, I got interested in using electronic callers and been hooked ever since.  The use of electronic callers brings with them several advantage over the use of hand calls.

1) Becasue of being able to move the speaker away from the caller, they help distract the attention of in- coming predators away from the callers position.

2) There are many, many different sounds available to the caller and most are the actual sound of the animal itself. When it comes to calling predators, it's hard to beat the real deal. . . The sound you heard when you opened this page is that of a
doe in distress, listen to it again and see what I mean about the advantage of using sounds from actual animals.

There are two basic types of electronic callers available today. Machines that play cassette tapes and those that use imicrochips to store the calling sounds. There are both good and bad about both types of callers.
In my opinion, the Johnny Stewart Model 512 caller is the best  cassette caller on the market.  I've called just about every type of critter that will respond to a caller, coyotes, fox, bobcats, lions, bear, turkey, ducks and geese, deer of all types,  and  tons of song birds.

This machine has been battle proven in the field by thousands of other callers and is truly a good investment for anyone wanting an electronic caller. Johnny Stewart also offers just about any tape a caller could ever need, the sounds are first class and proven performers.

A caller can also add a remote to this unit, which is real handy for setting a fast stand and allows the caller to place the unit some distance away for his or her hideout. I used the 512 for years without the remote and called thousands of animals without it. . . but, as soon as I tried it I had to have one.

To anyone interested in buying the JS512, I suggest you shop the web for the best deal as prices tend to vary greatly for time to time, and from vendor to vender, so. . . it pays to shop around.

If you're interested in the lightest caller on the market, and microchip conveience, the FoxPro is in a class by itself.

As small as it looks, this machine has plenty of calling power and can store numerous sounds by means of microchips. (sound boards) The digtal sounds will last a caller a life time and just using four "AA" batteries, the unit fits nicely in a large jacket pocket for easy carrying. The good folks at FoxPro can record any custom sound one might want and already has a vast selection available to suit the needs of most callers. Click link for more info.
The Wildlife Technologies  (WT) Model KAS-2010-RC caller is basically the ultimate in digital calling technology.

The caller who uses this machine simply can't buy anything better when it comes to the audio quality of the sounds produced. The WT machine has so many features, bells and whistles, it is impossible to mention them all in the limited space available here. But this machine can do basically anything but make the morning coffee - but that might soon be fixed.

For those who like to mix and match their noise, one of the best features is that the newest model can play two sounds at once. The remote is also good out to a quarter of a mile. The WT sound list contains just about every single sound made by any critter that makes noise. Fully loaded, the caller will contain 36 different sounds. For more info, click the link under the WT picture.
