Williamson County Sheriff's Department

Explorer Post #151

The Williamson County Sheriff's Department Explorer Post #151 was established in December of 1994. The program is geared toward young men and women, ages 14 to 21, which have an interest in law enforcement. Explorers are able to ride on patrol and work in other divisions within the Department observing and assisting wherever possible.

Explorer Post #151 has been involved in a number of community oriented tasks such as traffic direction at festivals, fingerprinting local children, and assisting with security operations at special events. The Post is also a member of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Exploring Association (TLEEA) whose main purpose is to provide a better network of communication with other Law Enforcement Explorer Posts throughout the state and nation.

The program objectives of the Williamson County Sheriff's Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post #151 are:

  1. To increase the understanding between the youth of the community and the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.

  2. To guide qualified young men and women into a career in law enforcement.

  3. To provide the opportunity for citizenship, service, fitness, outdoor, social, and career experiences necessary for young men and women to be better prepared to take places in the community as citizens.

Explorer Post #151 meets every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Criminal Justice Center, which is located at 408 Century Court in Franklin. Visitors are always welcome.
