5.2 Past Perfect Continuous Tense

วัตถุประสงค์ หลังจากศึกษาเนื้อหาในเรื่อง past perfect continuous tense แล้วนักศึกษาเข้าใจและสามารถตอบคำถามในเรื่องต่อไปนี้ได้ถูกต้อง

ประธาน + had + been + present participle

Yesterday I was so tired because I had been walking for two hours.

เมื่อวานนี้ฉันเหนื่อยมากเพราะฉันได้เดินติดต่อกันเป็นเวลานานถึง 2 ชั่วโมง

� ตัวอย่างประโยค past perfect continuous tense

		had		been	present participle
ประโยคบอกเล่า	I	had		been	waiting	for one hour.
ประโยคบอกเล่า	You	had		been	talking	too much.
ประโยคปฏิเสธ	It	had	not	been	raining.
ประโยคปฏิเสธ	We	had	not	been	playing	football.
ประโยคคำถาม	Had	she		been	doing	her homework?
ประโยคคำถาม	Had	they		been	doing	their homework?

� หลักการใช้ past perfect continuous tense

ใช้กล่าวถึงการกระทำหรือเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นและต่อเนื่องมาจนถึงอีกเหตุการณ์หนึ่งในอดีต การบอกระยะของความต่อเนื่องมักใช้คำว่า for ten minutes, for two days, หรือ for three months เป็นต้น

เขียนเป็น Past perfect continuous tense ได้ดังนี้

เจนทำงานโดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์เครื่องนี้เป็นเวลา 1 ช.ม. ก่อนที่หล่อนได้รับ email จากคุณ

Active Voice / Passive Voice

ACTIVE: I had been preparing dinner for thirty minutes before you arrived home. ฉันได้เตรียมอาหารเย็นมาเป็นเวลา 30 นาทีแล้ว ก่อนที่คุณมาถึงบ้าน

PASSIVE: Dinner had been being prepared for thirty minutes before you arrived home.
หมายเหตุ Past Perfect Continuous ไม่นิยมใช้ในรูป Passive voice
