     Robert T. Lewis, (presumed) son of Addison T. Lewis and Lucy C. Lewis of Mathews County, VA, was born around the year 1830.  He served in A. D. Armistead's Battery in the Civil War, and died December 27, 1893 of Brights Disease, according to pension records.

 

    Robert married Diannah F. Marchant July 5, 1855 in Mathews, VA.  They resided in the Hallieford area, then known as Cow Neck.  They were married 38 years and had seven (live) children:

     Diannah F. Marchant was born in 1838 to John J. and Louisa "Lucy" Marchant.  She and her brother John M. Marchant, was the only children born to John J. and Lucy.

     Diannah died in May, 1904, and was memorialized by her daughter Clemma in a newspaper article 21 years later.

                                      

     What follows is the history of my family. This is what I have been able to research and document to this point.  I am not an expert on genealogy, but have learned a few things along the way.  I also want to advise, that not all information may be accurate; but where information can be documented, I have included that documentation.
