Kambing sebuah band black dark metal dari Filipina. Lama dah aku dengar nama ni. Memang unik dan pelik. Sebab bahasa mereka ni hampir sama dgn Bahasa Malaysia. Kambing disebut kambing juga dlm bahasa kita.

Pertama kali aku dengar hasil seni mereka adalah dari kompilasi PANGGILAN PULAU PUAKA III Volume 1. Memang unik muzik mereka. Lagunya Visitation East Hangin. Boleh tahan jugak black dark metal yg mereka bawakan.

Malangnya hayat Kambing tak lama dan mereka telahpun terkubur utk selama-lamanya. Buat masa ini apa kisah terkini tentang ahli Kambing tak pulak aku ketahui. So kalau sesapa yg ada info tentang mereka sila tinggalkan pesanan anda di CURSEBOOX.

Kambing muncul dari daerah kegelapan Laguna, Filipina pada tahun 1993. Ia dibarisi oleh penyantau-penyantau berikut iaitu GITARIS-KINVTTIYAN, BASIS/VOKALIS-CYCLONVS SERPENTIS dan DRAM-WIND VNSILENT. Santau pertama mereka adalah Patterns For Abhorment yang megandungi ramuan 4 tuju-tuju yang penuh dgn dark black metal yg diuliti rentak doom yg sayu. Ia berjaya dirakamkan namun sayangnya gagal dilahirkan akibat masalah dalaman.

Mereka kemudiannya merilis santau Visitation East Hangin pada tahun 1998 yang diperkayakan dengan muzik kuno nenek moyang mereka yang aneh dan diadunkan dengan konsep kepercayaan kuno, pemujaan kambing dan bercampur baur dgn citarasa ketimuran.

Santau ini mempunyai 3 ramuan yang berunsurkan Avantgarde Oriental Melancholia. Sayang sekali KINVTTIYAN, gitaris mereka mengakhiri khidmat penyataunya dgn santau terakhir ini. Ia turut membawa kepada kehancuran band ini hingga mengakibatkan Kambing terkubur selamanya dlm kegelapan liang lahat.

KAMBING, from Laguna started in 1993 with the current line-up. Their first demo "PATTERNS FOR ABHORMENT", which contains four song of dark Black Metal with sorrow doom overtones were soon recorded but was not released due to some unexpected pressing problems. The bands unrelenting pursuance to externalize a collection of moods that concerns their ancient lineage are interjected with strange musical arrangements. Delving their concepts on subjects such as Philippine malign magic, primeval goat idolatry and some filipino lychantropical archetypes, intertwined with unrestrained feelings of eastern diabolism and valor. The result of this is their second demo " VISITATION EAST HANGIN", released in 1998. The demo contains three tracks of Avantgarde Oriental Melancholia. Unfortunately the demo also served as the bands final collaboration with guitarist KINVTTIYAN. Soon after the demise of the bands guitarist, KAMBING was finally put to rest. Despite the bands demise, occasional gathering with fellow underground band from Laguna, EBWA, is still happening.

Prior to this review, I’d read a lot of evil things from this local horde and I’d even read an intie with them in ULTIMATE DARKNESS zine (Malaysia). This Black/Dark horde has something very original and unique to offer but unfortunately these guys were disbanded ages ago. Incorporating tribal instrument works very well with them, and the presence of keyboards in some parts established the gloomy atmosphere. The riffs are grim but the tightness of its player is questionable, his mistakes are very noticeable. Song arrangements are great, simple yet very catchy. Vocal screeches thin and primitive. The beats are mid-paced which is akin to the thick bass line. Sound wise, its enough to capture all the instrument especially those tribal tunes. This demo has been released in ’98 with very impressive packaging, a thick colored glossy cover. This demo contains three tracks with a strong local heritage concept (judging to their looks and title tracks). I want to read the lyrics of this guy as I’m very impressed with their words in the intie I’d read, and as far as I know these guys came from State University.
