At this stage, the brickies have
finished for a while. The slabs for the pool room and garage are yet to be
poured.
Dad is here tidying up to make sure there is no rubbish to be of
concern under the house e.g. for termites to feed on etc., and to make it
easier to use some of the area for storage later.

You can now see the shape of the house clearly and begin to imagine
room sizes and the views which will be available from each different part
of the house. The front of the house is a bit further back from the
embankment than we expected, which is good, as the rooms there will have a
better view than we first thought.
The view from the verandah and back windows is also going to be pretty
good, though the deck area won't have the dizzy heights of some of the
surrounding homes. And the bricks change colour each time you look at them
- as in the photos. We think the grout has worked well with the bricks,
and think it should give a good finish in the long run...
Waiting now for slabs to be laid, plumbing to begin, and then the rest
will happen soon! |
