While in Denmark I had the pleasure of actually staying with Rochelle's first main host family for a couple of days - they, too, were on summer holiday. It was great to swap tales and thoughts with another family whose daughter had been on exchange, and to learn something about my own while I was there...

Rochelle's first 3 months were spent in Sonderborg with the Buchardi family - Esther, Steen, (opposite), and Kristina and Marianne (below). 

They are a beautiful and fun-loving family who were able to teach Rochelle lots about the Danish way of life - language, foods, how to have fun and laughs, and of course, where to find the best shops!!

Kristina had been to Australia on exchange the year before, and had stayed in Penrith with Candice's family (among others). She is here with her boyfriend, Jan, before our 'gianormous' pizza was consumed - Pizza Hut, 'you aint seen nothing in pizzas...!'

It was a great catch-up time all around.
