                           My Soaring Career

I am / have been a member of 4 aero clubs.

I started my flying carreer with the Eindhovense Aero Club zweefvlieg combinatie (EACzc) in 1992.
In 1994, when I was just short of passing my final exam flights, I moved to Silicon Valley, California.
Here I started flying again with Hollister Gliding Club (HGC), where I soloed in 1995 with Charlie Hayes.

Unfortunately, flying in Hollister became too expensive for me, so I stopped.
In 1997 we moved back to the Netherlands and took residence in Malden close to Nijmegen,
where I joined the Nijmeegse Aero Club (NIJAC).
In 1998 I finally got my license and in 1999 I could start flying the NIJAC LS4.
In 2000 we decided that we liked California more and moved back. I immediately converted my Dutch
glider license into a US license and joined the Bay Area Soaring Associates (BASA)
Here I am now flying the Pegasus (see picture below), the Grob 103 in Hollister and in the
Sierra Nevada (Truckee, Minden, Air Sailing)
In 2001 I started serious cross-country in the mountains.

SSA AeroKurier On Line Contest

In the 2005 season, I started logging my flights at the On-Line Contest (OLC) although I am not at all a contest pilot.
You can view some of my achievements at the OLC website.

Here a nice flight with our club DG1000 with Bob Korves.                        Here my best flight up till now to the White mountains
This is from Truckee, CA to Tioga Pass, just east of Yosemite.                  This was also in the DG1000 with Yuliy Gerchikov as co-pilot
