A World Out There | 3.5.03

Picture this, you work your bottom off for the goal that you have dreamed of! You earn millions but have no friends, but that's ok you have enough money to buy friends and maybe a wife/husband. You look back upon your life and the years seem like a blur, like one big memory of you working ever hard and and striving ever so much and being tired ever too long. Do you want that?
Now picture this, you enjoy your high school life and whatnot, but you manage to stay away from drugs alchohol and smoking. Your grades doesn't seem too good but who cares as long as your having fun. Dozing off at school, vid games at night. Is this good?
What i'm trying to say is that i have seen too many people on these extremes, sometimes my self included. And neither is too good for your future memories. I'm seeing and hearing people stressing out over school fearing to look at their progress reports cause it might not be the best grade in the class. Look, this is high school, if you start stressing out over grades now, i dunno what you'll be like when its time to figure out the tax returns and how to raise a good child. Those are the type of things that they don't teach you at school, because ultimatly school is to build a fundation of facts to prepare you for a suitable job. I don't think someone is going to look at your history and go "oh no you failed your section five part 3 test!" So why bother at stressing out because of it? Try hard on the test, after the test is over forget about it. Look at you grade, say oh look i might need to improve and do it. But don't spend your life studying and memorizing facts. Go out side, smell the flowers, who cares if its raining out side.
On the other hand... i don't mean enjoy life by going home sticking your face in the computer and playing vid games for the whole day. First its not healthy (trust me on this one) and second i don't think your gonna look back on your child hood when your 40 and be proud that your the US Top Stratical Red Alert Player with a total of 1356000 games and 87% of that is wins. That you could own anybody from anywhere from here to mars in Warcraft 3 and stuff and such like that.
So my point is? Do something that you normally wouldn't do. Try something that you normally wouldn't try*. If your a gamer, go out side, yes, that's what the little door on the far wall connects to. If your a person that studies alot, loossen up and spend a whole day with friends. Take up a hobby, like dancing or something. Who cares if your not good at it, its for you. DO something other than obessive gaming, stressing out on the next test, watching tv. You'll enjoy life more. For me, i'm gonna curl up next to my kitty and i'm going to dig my self into a really nice book that i just borrowed (Atlas Shrugged) and then maybe i'll get in touch with some of my friends that i haven't talked to for awhile. I'm not sure what to do, but i'm positive that i'm not going to go on my computer and play 12 Blademasters on WC3. Nor am i going to be paranoid at the next french test that's comming up. I'll study what i don't know at school or something, but i'm setting aside a time, to just do whatever i want (not computer games). You should too.
