If you've ever gone to camp, sat around a campfire with irritatingly cheerful counselors, and tried to find something to do, you've probably played this game. If not, here's how. One person begins a story, then passes it on to another. This person makes up the next part and then passes it off, etc. I wrote the first part, and I'd really, really appreciate if you'd submit the next part, or the one after that, or something. If I get more than one, I'll put up the first one I get.

Harlan stood at helm, yawning. He was on late duty, along
with Rosie, in the command post. This was not his favorite thing to be
doing, but he knew somebody had to do it.
Tonight was even more boring than usual. Rosie was not
interested in conversation. She had her Inter-Planetary Biology
homework with her, and was puzzling over it. He, irritatingly enough
had forgotten to bring his. Every so often, he would here her
mutter something like, "Who cares?" or, "How am I supposed to
memorize this stuff?" and once, even, "Grrrrrrr!!!". Harlan was willing
to hazard a guess that her usual good mood was slowly fizzling.
The Earther was about to ask her if he could look over her
shoulder, when he was distracted by something the viewscreen.
What is that? he wondered. "Rosie...," he said slowly. Surprisingly
enough, his voice was level, though he was exceptionally
alarmed by the sight. "Would you come over here please?"
"Ohhhh...my!!! What is that?" the Mercurian exclaimed.
"I asked myself the same question."
"We'd better get the commander up here."
Harlan nodded, realizing that, were he not so mesmerized by
the amazing sight, he would have done so immediately. He moved
toward the comlink.
	Suddenly--

Drop the bucket...

The com link exploded into bits. Harlan turned to Rosie and said,"I guess we'll have to find him on foot." Rosie and Harlan hurried down the hall, to fetch the Commander. They saw him and immediately started talking as they came up to him. "There is something REALLY weird on the view screen," Rosie said. "What's so weird about it?" The Commander asked. "It's...oh," Harlan said, stumbling with words,"you just...gotta come see this." The Commander agreed and ran down to the command post. When the three got to entrance of the room, they heard a scream. They quickly ran inside and say Suzee with her mouth open in fright. "It's...It's YENSID!" Suzee said almost in a whisper. There on the view screen was a strange planet, glowing with electricity and lights. The minute Harlan heard the word "Yensid" he thought of Catalina. How so much he wanted to hold her in his arms every night while the other were asleep and dreaming. He dreamed of Catalina almost every night. Half of them would be good dreams about him going to Yensid and getting Cat and everything being right. He would then have bad dreams about Cat hating him and never speaking to him and staying on Yensid and...he didn't want to think of those dreams. "COMMANDER! Rosie screamed,"I can't believe this!!! We're getting a hail from Catalina." "The four stared wide-eyed at each other. The Commander responded by saying,"T-Tell C-C-Catalina that we'll g-get the resst of t-the c-crew." With that, the Commander left to search for Bova, Ms. Davenport, and Radu. After the Commander left Suzee and Harlan looked at each other, and Rosie looked at the two of them. In their minds, they were thinking the same thing. "Uh-oh." -Contributed by Maureen :-)

Drop the bucket...

Rosie, Harlan, and Suzee only stood in silence as they drew near the glamourous planet of Yensid. Suzee was completely shocked. How could they be in Yensid? She did miss it, very much in fact. But these were two different demensions! It was nearly impossible, by her estimates. Harlan broke the silence. "Suzee, do you know HOW this was done?" Harlan interrogated eagerly. "Not at all. I-I just dont understand it! I mean....what could have happened? I-if we're in Yensid, that means we're not even in our own dimensions anymore!" "You mean, we're never going home?" Rosie asked worriedly, afraid of the answer she suspected. "I'm not sure, I have to go think this out." Suzee rushed away before another word could be spoken. She was gaining so much, yet losing almost everything she had. She could now go home and see her family. But she was not only losing a ship, she was losing a crew. She was losing the dignity and respect that she had worked so hard to get. She loved being the "engineering genius" who could solve anything with hardly working. To this crew, she seemed superior to them, but on Yensid, she was just an average girl. Suzee rushed away to the girls bunkroom and pulled out her log. It had been quite a while since she had spoken in it, and it was about time to catch up. * * * * * Radu grinned as he moved a piece from the game of Minbar Chess. He had never been an expert at this particular game, but he enjoyed the excitement of it. His opponent, on the other hand, looked quite depressed. Bova glanced at the board and shouted those two familiar words he had said the past three games. "That figures!" Bova exclaimed, throwing his hands into the air in frustration. "This is the fourth game, and I still havent won!! I even have more experience at playing!!" Radu cracked a smile. "Want to play another game?" "No, forget it. I'll just lose." Bova began to pick himself up and leave the room, when Commander Goddard raced into the room. "We have some news for you two," Goddard said with an exasperated breath. "What is it Commander?" Radu asked, showing slight concern. He had hardly seen the Commander worked up about things, and it was surprising to him. "We've reached...." "Reached what?" Bova asked impatiently. "Yensid." Radu and Bova's eyes widened as they heard the news. "But isn't that in an entirely different dimension?" Radu inquired. He had heard Suzee speak of it many times, and couldn't believe this news coming towards him. "Yes. Suzee's figuring out what went wrong. But we have to land this ship, and Mister Band can not do it without a navigator," Goddard said hinting towards Radu. Radu nodded and quickly exited the room. Bova followed after, not as enthused. -Contributed by Tato

Drop the Bucket...

As Radu entered the team room, he noticed that everyone else was already there. Bova entered in behind him and took a seat as his console. Radu went up to the screen and stared in wonder at Yensid. "Hey, ear boy, I need you at your console," Harlan said crossly. Radu walked to his stations with balled fists, trying his best to keep his actions under control. Sometimes he felt like he could just KILL that earther! "Rosie, request permission to land," Goddard commanded. Rosie obeyed. But when she got the reply, she couldn't decode it. "Thelma, help decode this message," Rosie called. Thelma appeared instantly by Rosie's side and tried to do as she was asked. But even the android, who was part machine, couldn't decode it. Suzee sighed in exasperation, having no patience with the crew that was not used to her dimension. She shoved Rosie and Thelma out of the way and quickly and easilly decoded the mesage, although it only made sense to herself. "They said that we have permission to land," Suzee said. The others stared at her curiously. The message, when decoded, was just a bunch of high pitched computer tones. "Man, computers must control your whole planet!" Harlan breathed. "It seems like there are no people here at all!" Suzee shot a glare at him, which was then replaced by a worried expression. "Of course there are..." she said nervously. The crew looked at her suspiciously. Each one of them thought that the engeneering genius was hiding something. -Leilapatra
