Travel from Bangkok
Car
Pattaya is located 147 kilometres from Bangkok and can be reached in a comfortable 2-hour drive along Highway No.34 (Bang Na-Trat) and Highway No. 3 (Sukhumvit) via Bang Pakong, and Si Racha. One can also avoid a lot of traffic on Bang Na-Trat Highway by opting for Motor Way (new Bangkok-Chon Buri-Pattaya route).
Bus
Air-conditioned bused regularly leave Bangkok’s Ekkamai and Mo Chit bus terminals throughout the day. The journey takes about two and a half hours.
From the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) on Sukhumvit Road, buses leave for Pattaya every half and hour.
From the Mochit 2 Bus Terminal on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, buses leave for Pattaya every 30 minutes.
There are limousine services between Suvarnaphumi Airport and Pattaya.
Rail
The State Railways of Thailand offers daily train service (non-airconditioned) departing Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Station at 6.55 a.m. The journey takes about 3.30 hours. The train stops at North Pattaya and South Pattaya. Call 1690 or 0-2223-7010, 0-2223-7020 for more information

Travel within the Resort
Travelling around Pattaya is most convenient by mini-buses that continually ply the Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya 2 Road in counterclockwise circuits. Those who wish to be independent and explore Pattaya’s surrounding countryside and beaches at leisure, can hire motorcycles, jeeps or cars. The visitor is advised to shop around and consult local tourism publications, for different companies offer different prices and conditions.
