Tuesday, July 04, 1893

I went over to Milaca a few days before the "Fourth" stayed

there until the 5th. Went to the picnic but did not have a good

time as I was not acquainted. Did not take any part in it did

not have any partner. Did not go to the dance at night. It was

about as dull a fourth that I ever put in but I did not want to

dance on account of poor little Leon having been killed so

recently.

Wednesday, July 04, 1894

I spent this day around Farm Island Lake in Aitken Co. Hilda

& I went over to Mr. Jeffsons in the fore noon. Took supper

there. Went over to Robt. DeLaitre's and danced two sets. I

danced part of the time as a girl. We started for home at ten

o'clock. We got lost on the lake. Did not get home until 12

o'clock tired and hungry. Good thing the fourth of July does

not come more than once a year. I wonder where I will be

next year.

Thursday, July 04, 1895

I went over to Milaca. Had Amanda Check for my partner.

We drove over in Check's buggy. We had a very nice time.

Stayed at Kate's. We got awful wet [ almost drowned ]

coming home. The "Little Girl" looked awful pretty. I was

proud of her. So another fourth has come and gone.
