| Saturday, July 04, 1896 |
| Manda and I came down from Check's after dinner. Stayed |
| here at home awhile then went over to Milaca and saw the fire |
| works. Stayed there until ten o'clock then came home. And |
| she stayed here all night. We had a good time. |
| Sunday, July 04, 1897 |
| We went to a little picnic at ?? We had a good dinner and |
| that was all. Very few there. I read the declaration of |
| Independence and made a short speech, the first of both that |
| I ever tried at a picnic. |
| Monday, July 04, 1898 |
| We did not go any place to celebrate today we had a good |
| dinner at home and then went up to Check's in the afternoon |
| and had supper there. We all hope that the stars and stripes |
| float over Santiago de Cuba today. |
| Tuesday, July 04, 1899 | Joe and Maud were on |
| We went down to Runneby to the Woodsmens Picnic. Had a | at this picnic did not |

| Wednesday, July 04, 1900 |
| I spent this day in Spokane Wash. Did not go any place in |
| the forenoon in the afternoon I went to the park to see a ball |
| game bet. the Sanford Cal. College and the Spokane Cubs. I |
| was very nice. |
