| Joe & I went up on the south fork of Ground House and |
| hunted a day or two saw nine deer. Killed one and wounded |

| I went home with Amanda from meeting and stayed until 12 |
| o'clock. I asked her to marry me. She did not promise for |
| sure but excepted the ring I gave her. this is the first ring I |
| ever bought for any girl. Dear little girl. I love her more every |
| time I see am with her. Should we ever marry I hope we may |
| be happy together. |

| Joe, Jim & I went up on Grand House to hunt for the fall. |
| Saturday, November 03, 1894 |
| I am 28 years old today and Joe and I went out hunting. Killed |
| a small deer and shot at some Indian dogs. We had a lot of |
| fun. Shot 49 shots this afternoon. |
| Thursday, November 22, 1894 |
| We came home from hunting on Ground House. We got 12 |
| deer the last trip and two the first. Bro. Jim killed his first deer |
| up there. I killed seven myself. We did better than I |
| expected. |
| Thursday, December 06, 1894 |
| It rained last night and turned to snow and ice this morning. I |
| killed a snake the 12th. Everyone is wishing for snow as |
| times are awful hard some people will have a hard time |
| getting through the winter. |
