| I came home from the lake. Was gone 3 months. Was very |
| glad to get home again after being in camp all winter. & John |
| Tripp started for Montana. |
| Tuesday, April 21, 1896 | Bro. Joe left home to |
| I went to Milaca and commenced scaling in the saw mill there | work at Barnesville |
| for $40.00 per month and boarded at franks. I did not intend | Minn when I worked |

| Saturday, May 30, 1896 |
| Jim came up to Milaca and brought me home. I went up to |
| see Manda. She had been sick and looked very tired. I |
| succeeded in getting her to name the day when we would be |
| married. It will be next Thanksgiving Day. I feel happy and |
| content and shall do all I can to get things ready and have a |
| little place to take her to. |
| Wednesday, June 17, 1896 |
| Mary came home from Barnesville and brought her little baby |
| boy. She calls him Geo. Sylvester Gutherie. He was born |
| last March and is a big fellow. It seems funny to see |
| "Smooty" with a baby. |
| Friday, July 10, 1896 | 1920 Sept. 1 Marjory |
| Sister Hilda came out on a visit. She had not been out here | is married and has |
| for a long time. She is going back to the farm again so I don't | babies of her own |
| foresee we well see her again for a long time. Neil is quite a |
| boy now and her little baby girl is very nice. She calls her |
| Marjory. Hilda was looking very well, better than she has for |
| several years. |
