Ribbons There are so many beautiful colors.

Look for ribbon that has some drape. There are some fabric ribbons that are more like paper which do not work very well.

Needles I use several different needles for this work.

Mostly I use a regular steel beading needle. It is long sharp and very flexible. I also use sharps, and tapestry needles.

Thread I prefer Nymo 00 grade. Nymo is used for beading.

It consists of many filaments and is exceptionally strong.

It never knots up. It is very fine so is unobtrusive.

It can be colored with marker pens to make stitches less obvious.

Embroidery floss, pearl cotton, satin cording, etc. are used for embellishment.
