  This line is researched back to the 1700's in Norway. This line includes ..dater's and ...son's, including Erickson, Ericksdater. I have a multiple great grandfather who had an illegitimate child with a fellow worker and then took off to sea, never to be heard from again. My great grandfather was John Ephriam Johnson

• Ottun/m

  This line is also researched back to the 1700's in Norway. Christina Ottun was John Ephriam's mother. Her father Jokob Ottun was the first of my ancestors to immigrate to the US.

  Knote

  My German Heritage

  Mary Knote came over on the Manchuria, an English Ship departing from Hamberg on October 24, 1921. Maria Margarethe Knote was the daughter of Hedwig Elizabeth Hartman and Richard Knote. Hedwig's father was Gottleib Hartman. My great-great uncle, Richard Knote, Jr. married Mary Frohn before serving in WWI as a German submarine captain. Another great-great uncle served in WWI in the German infantry, serving in England and France. In France, he got all his teeth knocked out in hand-to-hand-combat.
  

  Spilovoy

  John Paul Spilovoy was born in Antonovca, Russia on March 21, 1878. He immigrated to the US on June 23, 1903. JP paid for passage of all his siblings over the next few years. John Paul's father was Pawel Grigorev Schpilewoy. Pawel came over for two years in 1914 and he was from Beresjanki. His second wife, who is not my great-great grandmother was Christina Ivanova Peshute. His first wife's name is still unknown. I do know that Pawel was a peasant blacksmith and a devout member of the Russian Orthodox church. John Paul married Fanny Gushkowsky and they had four children. Edna, Peter, Natoshka and Paul. Paul John Spilovoy was my mother's father.

  Matthew Docenko immigrated to The US via the Kusk, arriving on December 15, 1916. He farmed in Mercer, ND while waiting for his Wife, Evdokia and thier sone George. Throughout the Russian Revolution, Matthew delayed his naturalization about 5 times. Evdokia and George got out of Russian in 1936. My dad, Barry Dossenko is the only child of Matt and Evdokia's only child. Dad told me an interesting story. Matt was Evdokia's second husband. The sons from her first husband were all aristocratic doctors who allegedly worked for the Czar and opposed Rasputin. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen. I now know that Evdokia had a son named Theo Karzemo who she lists as her nearest relative in Grebly, Ukraine.

  On the ship manifest it is spelled Legkadvch. Tereoti and Agripina immigrated from Libau, Russia and arrived on Ellis Island on August 21, 1900. They brought with them their children Philip and Moisie. Moisie brought his wife, Horpena (Lena) Dubowey and three children. Moisie changed his name to Moses and they had about 8 more children here, including my grandmother Dena Lakoduk. As far as I can tell, no other Dubowey's immigrated. However, Dubowey may be a misspelling of Dubovoy.
  

  Grushkowsky

  My maternal/paternal great grandmother, Fanny Grushkowsky.
  Fanny's parents were Bartholomey and Anastasia or just Anna Grushkowsky. Bartholomey and Anna immigrated between 1886 and 1902. Bart became a US citizen on March 29, 1902. On JP Spilovoy's naturalization papers it states that Fanny was born in Wanograd, Russia in 1886.
