i never imagined we'd get to this place
this cosmic collision of time and of space

yet the stars don't align quite the way i had planned
and i feel like i'm standing on quickly shifting sand

and i know that you gave just as much as you could
and i know that i've given much more than i should

and now i find my heart is tight in your grip,
your mouth on my body, my hand on your hip
