We were incredibly undecided about favors. We thought about tree seedlings, or flower seeds, but found that they were really expensive. Bubbles were affordable but didn't have anything to do with our theme. We thought long and hard about a favor that would reflect the theme and then it came to us:

        feathered masks

I made my mask as a prototype using one of those plastic half masks, a couple bags of white feathers, pearls and hot glue. Surprisingly, it came out really well. As soon as I get my film developed, I'll have a picture up here.

Luckily, my mother has volunteered to make all the masks, although I will still make the masks for the wedding party. We're going to put them on sticks, so they really look like a mask that you would wear to a masquerade. We'll decorate the sticks with ribbons...and then we'll have to attach a thank you note to the sticks somehow. Just a little white card that says "Nicole and Craig Wolverton. October 28, 2000."

We're planning to display them by sticking the sticks into the potted ferns....
