to visit when you come to our city. I will

Geelong web page authors.

We live in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Here is a view of the city looking across the bay. The white building on the left of the photo is Smorgy's restaurant. It is built on the end of the Cunningham Pier. Geelong is also called "City by the Bay" as it is located around a bay. This bay (Corio Bay) used to be the main trade source for Geelong. Now we still get freight by ship, however most of our trade is now imported and exported via planes, trains, and road.

Geelong is very cold most of the time, however when we do get hot weather it is extremely hot. This photo shows Eastern Beach. Eastern Beach is a part of the Corio Bay. Our main beaches are a part of the ocean and you need to drive about 20 kilometres from Geelong to get to them. Eastern Beach is a nice place to visit with picnic areas, a children's park, a children's swimming pool (salt water), and a fenced in area for people to swim in.

During our summers the beaches are packed with tourists and locals - all enjoying swimming, surfing, and fishing. Geelong is famous for its beaches, local craft markets, entertainment venues, fishing spots, surf beaches and tourism spots. We have a lot to offer in the way of entertainment - and Geelong is a town full of old relics of the past.
