Neptune's Daughter

I look into your eyes
and see years
of sorrow
Much more than
your small life
time's worth
Much more, much more

I see the sorrows
of a hundred women
in your smile
I wish I could
take you in my arms

and hold you
like a mother would hold
her child
But would you understand
dear lady of the sea

Neptune's daughter
I wish I could
gather all the flowers
on the earth
Each flower taking
just one sorrow away
Until you were free
to live the life
you need and deserve
