I believe that marriage is the second most important decision we will make, just below salvation. Both are until death.
"Better is it that thou shoudest not vow, than that thou shoudest vow and not pay." Ecclesiastes 5:5
This is a reason why marriage should not be entered into lightly. It is a SERIOUS decision. Many may not be properly prepared for this institution, but my warning to you is to please get enough knowledge and understanding. You should change your life by the knowledge and understanding of being prepared for marriage.
God should lead you to the mate that you are going to marry. This may take time to seek the Lord for his revelation. Through earnestly seeking God, he can reveal the truth to you. He has promised us through his word that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.
Problems in a marriage can be caused by the penalty of sins before. Here is one of the things that causes a marriage to fail, it happens when a young couple get involved and commit sin, some have babies, and some may not. Nevertheless, there is a price to pay and later on in their marital relationship, the penalty of sin is manifested and cause the relationship to be under stress. Stress that would not be there before, but because of the sins committed BEFORE, they may now need healing, counseling or deliverance to improve the relationship.
It is wise to get Pastor involve in your relationship before you marry.
You should know assuredly that the person loves you deeply.
If both of you have argued with each other, more than eight times, please reconsider getting engage or to marry this person. A relationship is about happiness, togetherness, cooperation, and commitment. So, if the two of you are not agreeing, this is a big indicator, that something is wrong.
Anger is a red flag to warn the couple that this relationship may need more, not for you or this one need too much work, to get it into a healthy state or it is too far gone. People come with their own problems, be wise before you are caught up into something that is not for you. Why play "fix it," there are many wonderful people who you two can get along peacefully without all the extra drama.
A thorough overall look at the entire person would be well advised. Where they are from, where they ever arrested, are they good to their parents, is there insanity or depression in their family, is this person addicted to looking at adult magazine, picture or videos, have this person ever raped someone, or a pedophile.
Many individuals enter into relationship with baggage, whether mentally, physically or spiritually. Make sure all the baggage are dealt with before you marry that individual. Taking a look at their complete history, this may include hereditary diseases that may affect them mentally, physically or spiritually. If you are going to be with the person for the rest of your life, you will need to know this person.
