Ack. I worked far longer last night than I expected. See, I asked my advisor if he could give me a ride home (b/c I'm running out of cash which is sort of required for bus travelling), and hence had to wait until he was done. As I closed the lab up at 8.50 pm, I asked him if I could count it as work hours, and he nodded (coz I had been working, dammit), so yey.. some extra hours to rack in money from. But enough of that subject, it's so dull, heh.

I sort of dreaded having to cook and all last night, being tired and all, but as soon as I opened the fridge all these things leapt at me so I couldn't help but starting something up anyways. So here's the scoop:

Chop up half an onion, half a green bell pepper, and two (or more) veggy hot dogs. Cook rice however much you want. Fry the chopped up onion in butter or olive oil or something till they're a bit brown. Add veggy dogs. Fry a bit. Add bell pepper. Fry fry fry till it's all warm but not dead brown and done. Scoop 4 table spoons or more/less of sourcream into the mess, and stir. Add salt and oregano at will. Lastly, squirt plenty of Heinz ketchup into it and stir until it's pinkish and warm and saucey. Taste. Serve with the rice, duh. Fresh spinach is also nice on the side.

Speaking of food - I've started a project for this site that I think will be really cool once it's done. I'm putting together... and online cook book. It is to be made up out of recipes I am good at cooking, or 'invented', yes, but that would be very limiting. Hence I will have recipes from all sorts of people around me - my supervisor has submitted a great soup recipe, I have a whole bunch of recipes from rec.music.tori-amos people that will get its own category, and I've asked plenty of people at CN, the talker I frequent to submitt things. I've also asked them to ask their friends/parents to get a really wide variety.. once I'm done badgering these people and get their submissions, there will be sooo many different ethnicities present - greek, Swedish(duh), Scottish, Spanish, Egyptian, etc etc etc.

Well. I'm going to stretch this quest out to you guys - if you feel you have a yummie recipe that you want to share with me, please, just email me :) Ghod I made my own tummy growl.

OH.. the background image is a swirly pic of Ani DiFranco. Gene got tickets for us to see her perform in April. I can't wait :) I'm all busy trying to figure out what to wear, and trying to learn the songs by her I don't know yet so I can scream elatedly as expected. I quite like Independence Day, today.

Unrelatedly - my brother called sometime after I went to my room and apparently tried out his English on Aziza before I got the phone. My first question was: "Are you drunk?" He confessed, heh, and then yabbered on for an hour. It was odd. I tried to get him to hang up 3 times before we did, because heh.. an hour of international calls isn't exactly cheap and my mom will most likely end up paying it, but he kept saying no, no, let's keep talking. It was odd.

What's even more odd is that considering some news I got about some relatives, me, my brother and my mother are perhaps turning out to be the least dysfunctional as of late. It's quite disturbing, heh. Ah well. Have a great weekend - I'm going home to help clean up the ole apartement - Aziza has a friend coming over from out of state, and there's nothing wrong with giving an okay impression :)

'Let's GOOO..'

(Ghod, nothing gets me so ready to live as Tori's Raspberry Swirl, it seems.)
