visiting granny. I missed the bus that was to take me to the home my grandmother is staying at because I decided to go buy us some nice blueberry cupcakes and bring. I grumbled plenty as I tried to catch the leaving bus, pondered walking home to get mom's bike, and then simply sucked it up and started walking. Luckily, I made it, despite the 2 mile long hill, and soon found myself shaking hands and curtsying to a handful of rather grey older people. It shocked me how different they were from my grandmother - my vibrant, dyed hair and bright coloured clothes grandmother seemed to be a different species from these non-destinct wrinkly faced grey beings. No wonder my grandmother keeps saying no when I ask her if it isn't nice to have people around 24/7 to talk to as opposed to being home alone. We spent close to an hour in her room talking and sharing a soda. The funny thing is, it was really fun, and we talked about things we've never talked about before, including my stupid realization that my grandmother's been around most of this century, and is about to go into the year 2000. It was fun, and she seemed thrilled. We hugged a lot before I left.
new sections. I just finished setting up the guestbook and the "why" page - take a peek from the index page. :) |
