on the subject of luck

the universe listened?

remember how i was bitching friday about how the universe owes me something? well, for some reason, it seems it was listening and felt bad, because right after that i suddenly found myself on some weird lucky streak.

(obviously the universe needs to clean it's ears, though - it blatantly disregarded my suggestion to send me dave gahan or any member of depeche mode dressed in nothing but a tied red ribbon. i'm waaaiting. hrmph.)

examples

friday: 1) my mother agreed to go to the movies with me and i got to see the matrix. 2) the train person forgot to charge me and my mother on our train back to ronneby which saved us about 15 dollars.

saturday: 1) i go to buy milk and two cinnamon buns. the girl only charges me for milk and one bun, which i didn't discover until it was too late to go back. 2) at the nearest convenience store i got two news papers for free, and the candy i bought was marked at a lower price than it was supposed to, leaving me with money left over unexpectedly.

sunday: 1) i visit my friend anna who passes on a gift from her sister monica who is working in london at the moment. it's a barely used copy of the tori amos, live in new york concert which i haven't had the money to buy yet.

monday: my brother starts bitching about me having eaten the pasta sauce he wanted, yet still handed me two cd's "that you can have that friend of yours make copies of for you" - the two depeche mode single collections. i mentioned it briefly last fall that i'd like to borrow them when i got back, and he remembered. i'm amazed. not complaining, though.

tuesday: 1) i get all the necessary study loan and travel documents in the mail 2) my mom and i get a ride from one of her friends while we were waiting for the bus.

today: my brother goes on a 2 day trip letting me vegitate in front of his tv's for as long as i like, and do stupid things like watch tori on the big screen tv with surround sound.

the excursion yesterday...

..went surprisingly well! i didn't get annoyed a single time but rather basked in the sunlight and beauty of the small tourist island me and my mother visited. i even suddenly took off my flip-flops and headed onto the strips of beach and walked in the water.

yes. i will have pictures, eventually. we all know how rare it is for me to go anywhere near beaches and water in daylight.

i really enjoyed it - it was like walking in a summer postcard. i'm starting to see why we get a lot of tourists around here. i live in a beautiful place, duh. click here and see pictures and get other information about ronneby.

i think i suffer a lot from "home-blindness" - this is a gorgeous place, but because i have lived here all my life it takes a lot to notice it. *shrug*

other than that

i am trying my hardest to get the sam rockwell site to work. it's no magical wonder, but it looks reasonably nice, i think. i'm going to keep it a low-scale page too - i don't want it to eat me and my time up like the pj harvey page did. it's quite exciting to know it'll be the first fan page for sam out there, though. wEee for originality. or something.

idiots

this moron seems to have taken a good eye to me. i feel like the biggest bitch in the world, but it bugs the hell out of me whenever he gets a computer up here and then spends the hour or whatever glancing my way. i know, i know, i guess i should be flattered, but really - it just annoys me to no end.

and then there's the other moron who is what, 17? suddenly he's taken a penchant to wandering up here one or two times a day. he walk straight to where i sit, drag a chair up next to me, and then sits quiet. i don't know if he expects me to start talking to him, or if he really is happy just staring at somebody else's screen for 10 minutes at a time in silence, but it's also bugging me.

the only advantage to this sudden popularity seems to be that i can get away with doing things like... stealing candy. when the 17 year old came up here earlier and showed to have a bag of candy, i simply grabbed it, picked out a few pieces, said thank you and ate'em up.

he just blinked a few times. hehehe.

now, on the other hand, because the candy was chocolate dipped marmalade (ick), i'm on a sugar high that's making me seem like a racoon on speed by a computer. hence, i'll leave before i ramble on forever. bye.
