sweat and flat-eric.

melting.

the air conditioning in the building where all my classes are located is dead. in fact, it's been dead for the past week and a half.

hot in here? sweating? melting? dehydrating? you could say that.

all my classes are on the top floor in a building with virtually no air circulation, and where no classrooms have windows. it's not so much that it feels like a sauna everywhere you go, it's that your skin is constantly covered in a thin film of sweat, and any piece of clothing seems too coarse and damp to allow any breathing.

might be why i'm not up to discussing at length neil postman's "amusing ourselves to death - public discourse in the age of show business" in class.

maybe it's coz it makes me growl snarl and roll my eyes.

and yet stupid stays

they were going to close the computer lab at noon due to the heat inside the tiny room generated by all the computers with nowhere to go.

and i talked them into letting me keep it open all afternoon by promising to lock it up.

result: i'm going to return to chapel hill looking like a sweaty hog. go jennie.

more whining.

i was leaving the campus yesterday to meet up with gene to go eat when i suddenly felt like i was about to fall down. i headed for the bathroom and ended up throwing up for 20 minutes.

let's just say it's been a bad week. monday i ate a bowl of oatmeal, two hardboiled eggs and drank a cup of orange juice. tuesday i had a bowl of veggy chili and a small caesar salad. wednesday i had a bowl of spaghetti and pasta sauce.

average hours of sleep: 3.5 hrs/night.

it's been a bad week. i'll tell you this, though. fried mushroom and a grilled cheese sandwhiches can save any day.

that and..

jesse came over last night (bringing half a bottle of cheap, horrid vodka. after downing each show we had to wince for about a minute afterwards. but hey.)

i showed him about 100 photo's i brought back from sweden. he told me about his roadtrip around america. we got a bit drunk. watched a lot of tv.

i left him sleeping on the livingroom floor bundled up in all my blankets and went to bed and had 4 hours to catch some ever elusive sleep.

flat-eric

i first fell for flat-eric several months ago in the mr oizo video for "flat beat" but.. today, for some reason, i got sudden urges to go flat-eric searching.. and then i managed to drag jessica into it... what can i say, crazy europeans and their muppets? i don't know.

  • www.oizo.cz for the music
  • www.flat-eric.de for the german account of the rest.

    see you tuesday

have a good weekend. maybe by then i'll have figured out why every other sentence out of my mouth is either how something kicks/rocks/sucks as, or includes the word "honey."

    peace.
