HI! ARE YOU A CATLOVER AND A BOOKREADER?

Then we have a lot in common. I, who write this is of course Hugo's "Matte". Hugo doesn't read. He is the outdoor type. But I read at least 1000 pages a month in English, besides everything else. That is, I used to - before I started to work on this website. Now I don't have the time for more than maybe 700.
I am the happy owner of around 2 000 mystery and crime books. I also have a bookcase with 200-300 new books that I haven't read yet, but eagerly look forward to. That is like having a bookstore of my own. I can always choose the book I feel like reading at the moment. Aren't you envious of me? I would be, if I were someone else. When I grew up books were scarce, maybe one for Christmas and one for my birthday. I think I compensate for that now. And I am lucky enough to be able to afford it.

I have long planned to do some work on the subject "Felines, Females and Crime", because I have noticed that in maybe the last ten years these subjects seem to go more and more together. I prefer generally to read female authors because "they tell me what I want to know". More "human interest" one could say. And of course the principal is usually a female. And - you must have noticed too - almost everyone has a cat.
Concentrating on the CAT motif: I divide the books in four CATegories:

1. Books, where the cat is supposed to think, write and sometimes even speak like a human.
2. Books, where the cats are cats, but still very involved in solving the crime.
3. Books, where the cats are just ordinary pets.
4. Books, where one or more cats are murder victims
