the ethnic orgin of Elijah is England. Martha Findley estimated the
marriage date of Elijah and Matilda as about 1830-1834. Elijah married
Mary ? after the death of Matilda which death appears to be at the death
of their fifth child, William K. Walker. The place of death of Elijah
appears to be Hickman County, Tennessee.
In the 28th General Legislature, which convened on Oct 1, 1849. Elijah
Walker was elected judge by the legislature.
One of the lawyers that attended court at Vernon, a prosperous frontier
town, was Elijah Walker.
Elijah Walker, one of the early lawyers, was prominent as a lawyer on
account of both his legal learning and extreme candor in expressing him-
self as to the points of law and equity. (This information from the

Henderson Bates Phillips first wife died after giving birth to their
seventh child, Martha Angeline Phillips on 8 June 1863. Six
additional children were born to his second wife, Mary Jane Russell
born in 1844 and died on 1 March 1917.

! Family bible was hard to read. Birth date could have been 1838 or
1808. Death date could have been 8 June 1862 or 13 July 1863. It was
reported that she died after giving birth to Martha Anjeline on 8
June 1863. Maybe the year was wrong it could have been 1862. Also
it is unclear if the baby died at the same time. She doesn't appear
on the 1870 census only seven years after her birth date. The 1850
census for Madison County, Arkansas lists Mary as 17 years old and
born in Arkansas. This would have placed her birth in 1833.
Mary Jane Kimbrell is buried in the Grimm Cemetery by the old Grimm

recorded Mary buried in the Rudd Cemetary.
