Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 8, for Alice A. K. Weinland who passes away January 6 at a rest home for senior citizens.

In the year 1880, there moved to Union City, Ohio, a young minister and his bride to assume their first pastorate in the United Brethren Church. On January 21, 1882, their first child was born - - a daughter whom they named Alice.
After several pastorates in Ohio, the family moved to Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania in 1896 and there Alice graduated from high school in 1900. A lover of flowers all her life, she exemplified this love by entitling her high school graduation oration, "The Ministry of Flowers". She joined the church at the age of 14 and gave generously of her talent and financial means to the church throughout her entire life.
Graduating from Otterbein College in 1904, she taught in the pubic schools of Mt. Pleasant until the family moved to Westerville in 1906, where she resumed her teaching until her marriage with Professor Louis A. Weinland in 1910. For 26 happy years they together served the college, the church, and the community of Westerville.
Declining health compelled her to leave her own home in 1965 to enter a rest home for senior citizens.
