Funeral services for Dr. Louis A. Weinland, 56, who died Monday at the Harding Sanitarium following a short illness, were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the United Brethren Church with Dr. W. G. Clippinger officiating. Professor E. M. Hursh sang.
The body lay in state in the church from noon Wednesday until time of the funeral. Burial was made in Otterbein Mausoleum in charge of G. W. Stockdale & Son.
Dr. Weinland was head of the department of chemistry at Otterbein College and had been a member of the faculty for 28 years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Otterbein in 1905, his Master of Arts in 1910 and his Doctor of Philosophy in 1930 from Ohio State University.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society, Central Ohio Schoolmasters' Association, Ohio Association of Chemistry Teachers, the Sigma Xi and the Sigma Zeta fraternities.
Surviving Dr. Weinland are his wife, Mrs. Alice Keister Weinland, and a son, Louis A. Weinland, Jr., a chemist in the Master Builders Research Laboratories, Cleveland.
