Markley Rites To Be
Held At Home Sunday

Funeral services for Joseph William Markley, for many years a member of the Westerville school board, who died Thursday at the age of 77 years, will be held at the residence, 34 East College avenue, Westerville, Sunday at 2:30 p. m. Rev. J. S. Innerest, pastor of the Westerville United Brethren church, and Dr. N. E. Cornetet, will officiate.
Mr. Markley, who had been in the mercantile business in Westerville 50 years and also had been in the insurance business there, was the first and only president of the First National Bank in Westerville, which was merged with the present bank in that village.
He had also served as treasurer and as a member of the official board of Westerville United Brethren church and also was a member of many committees connected with Otterbein college, of which he was a former student.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Sallie Hopper Markley; two daughters, Mrs. Ada M. Frankham of Columbus and Mrs. Josephine Wilson of Westerville; three grandsons, Markley Frankham of New York and James and Joseph Wilson of Westerville; one brother, O. L. Markley, Long Beach, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Jackson, Morgan Hill, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Markley would have celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary March 18. The deceased was a member of Blendon lodge, F. & A. M., and Rainbow lodge of Odd Fellows. The body will be placed in Otterbein mausoleum by Earl F. Keyes.
