Area Minister - John Furry

Rev. John Furry is the interim area minister for is a huge, bent triangular shape with the 401 highway as its southern boundary (except at the western end and a few other spots), and Wiarton, north of Owen Sound as its tip. Along the 401, the Area runs from Brampton, just west of Toronto to Windsor, just east of Detroit!. We have both high-intensity urban and rural areas, the urban being everything from industrial to commercial. Five Universities are located in the area, as are many community hospitals and schools.

The BCOQ churches in the Area range from mid-to-large by BCOQ standards to extremely small. All seem to be struggling with the transition from familiar fellowship to essential outreach. Those that can make the transition will develop and grow, perhaps in many surprising, new ways. Those that cannot make the transition will have a hard time of it over the next two decades.

The churches of this Area, however, may be the "classic" BCOQ of our times. For here, "we are wherever you go"!
