As a general rule of thumb, if the Westerville City School District cancels classes on a Monday, we will not have rehearsal that evening.
Should a rehearsal be cancelled after school hours section leaders will contact their section members.
To find out if Westerville Schools are cancelled, you may check the Westerville City School District web site or the 610 WTVN web site.
If Westerville schools are closed for a Monday holiday, we will not rehearse that week unless a Tueday rehersal has been scheduled. Please check with your section leader if you have questions.
Please notify someone in your section -- preferably the section leader -- when you will not be at rehearsal. If you have a folder that is also used by another member, please make arrangements for the folder to be at practice.
Please do not use e-mail to notify of absences, as some people don't check their e-mail often.
Have you joined the Westerville Concert Band E-mail List yet? The list is members only -- and will be used to send information pertaining to the band. Rehearsal information and cancellations, roster updates, important concert-line up changes, membership and or policy changes and the like will be communicated through the e-mail list. You will not receive spam through the list.
To join the members list, all you need to do is send an email to: wccb-subscribe@yahoogroups.comand in the body of the message include your name, instrument and part, so our membership chairman and Larry Cipriani (list manager) can verify your band membership.
Black dress pants, black socks, dark shoes (dark brown or black); black dress jacket/sports coat, white dress shirt, black BOW tie.
Red bow ties are worn for the Holiday concert.
Black dress; black skirt (must be below the knee); black pants, black blouse (no light colored blouses); black nylons or black socks, black shoes. No color accents, please, on your clothing (ie., color fringe or hem stitching, appliques etc.).
Holiday scarf/jewlery may be worn for the holiday concert.
Our Summer Uniform consists of tan khaki pants, red Westerville Community Bands polo shirt and dark shoes. Women are welcome to wear tan khaki skirts (must cover your knees when you sit) if they wish.
NO shorts!
The red Summer Uniform shirts are $35 and can be purchased at rehersals from Cheryl Briggs in the flute section. The shirts include the Westerville Community Bands logo embroidered on the front.
Board elections take place in December/January
The band board meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to band members -- ideas and suggestions are always welcome.
