This page is to give you FtM's tips on how to pass as a male. Here are a few of the important ones:
Make sure you have your hair cut short. Usually buzzing is not a good idea for some people, but short hair just above the ears may help. Some FtM's do look pretty masculine with long hair, but short is sometimes the best.
If you are big in the chest area, wearing very loose shirts should work best for you. If you are smaller, loose shirts are still a good option, but maybe not as loose. For big chested people, definatly no tank tops :).
For FtM's who want to have a buldge without the sex change here are some good options. You can fill a condom with the material of "Gak". Once it is filled put knee stocking's (panty hose material) over it to give it a more real look and feel. If you are looking for one with a "head" then place another stocking around the tip and tighten it until it looks sufficient. 4: Walking for females and males may vary. Women have more of a slow, dainty walk. Men have more of a fast, buff walk. Men generally have long strides, sometimes walking with their hands in their pockets. Sometimes they don't have very good posture either. Their shoulders sometimes droop. When you stand it is good to have one hand in your pocket or to cross your arms.
If you do go into a mens bathroom to use the restroom, there are a few things you must know. When walking in make sure and avoid eye contact with other men. A lot of men are VERY homophobic and if they think you are trying to make a pass at them they may get a little aggressive. Walk in clamly, don't make a scene because you might have some men looking at you funny. If you use a urinal just casually walk up, unzip, and go. Stare at the wall and act as if you've done this all your life. Wash your hands and gright back out, very simple. But if your stand and pee device stand out than it would be better to use the stall. Remember to lift the seat. Yes a lot of men use the stallsbecause they are pee shy, so you definatly won't look like an odd ball.
If you talk to someone you don't know and you want to make your voice sound manly here are a few tips. if you are not on T this may be a lot harder. Some FtM's are already born with a pretty deep voice like myself, but some definatly have the girlishness still there. Don't force your voice down lower, at any rate it sounds fake and when your force your voice lowerit shows on your face. Relax your vocal cords, try practicing at home before going out like in the mirror and such. Try to relese your voice nice and easy. Most of thetime your vocal cords cooperate and the voice just flows out nice and easy. You may end up sounded like a 13 year old boy that has'nt hit puberty yet, but I know a lot of grown men that sound like that so you should pass :)
Men have a different laugh than women. This may go along with the voice tip but I think this is important to know. I still do this and it makes me sick but I can't really help it. Whenever I get startled or when I find something really funny I let out a high pitched sort of yell. It's horribally feminine. You have to learn control. Men generally let out a deeper type of a chuckle. Letting out a loud shrill does me you the center of attention if you look male. Try to let your voice flow out and try not to scream or giggle. You can look totally male but your voice will give it away.
When it comes to sitting, men and women definatly differ. Women usually sit up and sit more foward than men. They cross their legs, one over the other, while men generally rest their ankle on their knee and sit like that. Men take up a lot of space. They sit back and slouch down in the seat more, taking up plenty of space. But if you can't give up the habit of sitting with your legs crossed like a womans, don't worry. Many men sit like that any how. So if you continue to sit like that, it shouldn't be too noticable.
Men and women have very different body language. Men gesture away from the body while women gesture closer. Men also tend to approach women more closely in terms of their personal space but women are the total opposite.
Facial expressions are the key to passing when in a conversation. Men tend to cock their head to the side and look at the other person from an angle when listening. The provide fewer facial expressions in feedback and fewer reactions. The also tend to display frowning and squinting when listening. They stare in negative interaction.
This may sound odd but the way you eat is also different between males and females. What I notice in most females (which drives me nuts) is that women will break off little pieces of their food like a donut and eat it little by little. Men usually just take big bites out of it and finish it quickly. In other words, don't be slow or picky. Compare and contrast the way men and women eat when you see two dine at a table. It will become clear what I mean.
