Both. There can be no discrepency between the two. How can your eyes tell you one things and you religion tell you another? Science should be an external reflection of the inner truths. If it's not, it's wrong. The inner truths should uphold scientific findings, if they don't, chances are they aren't really truths.

Myths are to a people what dreams are to an individual. Myths are stories from which we can learn. They communicate Truths to the inner self in symbols and images. So, no they are not meant to be taken literally.

Who are the Mother and Father?
Symbols of the dual nature we experience in the universe. Yin and yang. Positive and negative. Light and dark. Together they form the ONE and through their union the universe is conceived. They also symbolize the Spirit of Family. We honor them as a symbol of the love we have of the family. We call them Pomona and Vertumnus, who are the goddess of the fruitful tree and the god of the changing seasons.

Why should I believe in more than one god?
There is truly only ONE supreme being. And this being created everything that is, was, or ever can be from and of itself. It is beyond human comprehension. We cannot describe it. But we can experience it through our inner selves. We can only know the ONE by seeing its MANY facets. Some have called the facets gods, demi-gods, angels, etc. But whatever you call them, they are the same. You believe in them because they are real and because they can lead you to the ONE.

What is the purpose of life?
The final purpose of life is to return to the ONE. In order to do so, the self has a certain number of things to experience and learn. And therefore, this life is best viewed as a school for the inner self. In this life, Pomona and Vertumus are our Divine Parents. They give guidance to and for the self, the spiritual part of the human being, in the same way that our physical parents give guidance to and care for the outer self. The gods are our teachers in this classroom.

To this tree is grafted the individual lifes of incarnations.

What is destiny?
Life is a classroom. Each soul has specific things to learn and purposes to serve in creation. The inner self knows its purpose and place in this life even if the outer ego doesn't. This purpose is destiny. Destiny is the collective lessons of life that a soul must learn in order to grow to the next level.

How do I know my destiny?
Know thyself! Meditate. Use visualization. Find the Secret Garden and ask the Parents, then, LISTEN to the inner whisper of the Mother and watch for the outer signs of the Father. When you find it, you'll KNOW intuitively.

What is a Quest?
A journey through space, time, and experience on which you seek something of special value. All quests are made of the same parts. An initiation, a gathering of helpers and tools, the departure, the adventures, finding the special something, experiencing temptation, and the return home. The myths of Jason, of Ulysses, and of Aeanas are examples of quests. You can apply the parts of the quest to the searches you have in your own life.

What is Fate?
Fate is called Karma by the Hindus. It is the system by which you get back what you put out. Fate is determined by all of ones past actions and presents itself as present opportunities. Fate is where you are. Destiny is where you want to go.

Do you teach reincarnation?
Yes. We teach that the soul must reincarnate over and over into the classroom of life until it learns its lessons and achieves destiny. Upon achieveing ones destiny, there is no more need to return to this world and one progresses to a higher level of being. The belief in reincarnation makes it imperative that we do all we can to solve the problems we see in our world because unless we do achieve our destiny in this life we will return to face these problems again.

How can you be sure that death is not the end?
By looking at the world around me. The sun comes up again every morning. Then, sets. And rises again. Each year the autumn comes then winter brings the killing frost. But, each year, spring also comes and life begins again. Everywhere you look you see the same pattern. Look to the sky. Stars explode, become novas and die. The material left from the old star condenses down and becomes anew star. How can human life not follow the pattern of nature?

What happens after I die?
-First of all your inner body will float up out of your physical body and look down at the surroundings of your physical body. After a little while you will move rapidly through a tunnel toward a light at the end. At the end of the tunnel you find yourself in the scenery you most expect to see after death. If you expect to see a pleasant place you will. If you expect to see a less pleasant place you will.
-A spiritual guide (in Roman terms, Mercury) will appear to you in a form which will comfort you, e.g. a dead relative, personal deity, etc. The guide will comfort you and lead you to whatever place you need to go.
-Your inner self will review its progress with higher beings.
-If your inner self did not achieve its destiny, your inner self will go to a place in this spiritual world to rest or to be purified and prepare for its next incarnation. You will then be reborn into a new life determined by Fate.
-If your inner self achieved destiny, it will continue learning and growing on a higher level of existence.

How did the world begin?
We believe that the world began with the Big Bang and evolved from there. Religion and science teach the same things. Our description of the beginning will of course be in religious terms rather than scientific. The accepted myth of the creation is that of Nox and the Cosmic Egg.

Will the world end?
If it does, it will be a very long time away and not anything to worry about. Some believe that the universe is cyclic and lasts for a certain number of years (a very large number) and then retracts, lies dormant and is reborn. This is symbolized by the persona of the Phoenix.
