Thai'ing one on!

Thai

Well, second day of vacation and second day of being sick. At least today was better than yesterday. It seems that every time I take vacation, I get ill. Anyway, today started early. We had to get up at 5:00am to get our daughter off to the airport to visit her dad for the holidays. It could have been a lot more hectic, but we told her that we were leaving at 5:45am instead of the 6:00am that was required! (We actually left at 5:55am!)

With the airplane in the air and our trip to Virginia ahead, I knew it would be a long day and just hoped that I wouldn't over stress myself and get sick again. The Virginia trip, (cigarette run), went in record time and we were home by mid afternoon. Time for a short nap. Of course, the phone wouldn't cooperate! After taking care of a couple of "911" beeps and calls, it was time to catch up on e-mail and make appointments for a new wig.

About 6:30pm or so, Fran tells me that she wants to go out to eat tonight. She picked 6 restaurants and left the final pick to me. We chose Ban Thai on N. Charles Street, downtown Baltimore. I didn't even get to ask her if it was ok if I dressed. She said to me, "And you can wear what ever you like."! Well, that was a no brainer!

Off to the bathroom I go to check my stubble. Actually, it was quite thick, as I didn't shave this morning. After cleaning up and shaving extra close, I started getting dressed. Panties and Veronica on, socks, my new Northern Jeans and my black suede Airsteps. My favorite bra and my (still) new breast forms. Back to the bathroom to cover up... Foundation laid, blush on, mascara and eyeliner, (just a touch - this was a casual dinner). Pulled on a white T-shirt and then a dark blue cable knit sweater. Lipstick, medium hoop earrings, watch, bracelet, necklace, no rings today. As I said, a casual dinner, so I pulled my hair back in a ponytail and put on Fran's NY Yankees ball cap. I was ready to go in record time for me! Fran wore a pair of jeans, black turtleneck and her brown suede ankle boots. We called the restaurant to find out what time they closed and off we went. Fran drove and we had a wonderful time reminiscing about the other times that I had gone out partially dressed with her and my "non-comfort" level at the time! You see, this is the very first time that Fran and I were going out in public with me presenting totally as female, (excluding Halloween), I had always before presented as andro or partially femme. Surprisingly, I was not nervous at all.

We located the restaurant and found a parking spot right in front. (This never happens!) I was actually kind of bummed as I was looking forward to walking a bit to the restaurant. It was very well lit inside and I was very glad that I had not overdone my makeup. We were greeted without hesitation and the one couple that we walked by to get to our table didn't even give us a second glance.

We ordered our drinks, Coke for Fran and Thai Iced Tea for me. So many good choices on the menu! We decided on our appetizers and entrees, Fran ordered for us, as I am still working on a consistent voice. Dinner was excellent! The food was superb and the atmosphere was delightful. Not to mention that the prices were very reasonable as well. Dinner total was 41.28 including tip!!

I drove home and we decided to take the longish way. We detoured through Fells Point and then up Boston Street then took another detour down Keithe? Avenue... Finally got onto 95 heading north bound and homeward. The best part of the ride home were the conversations that we had about my dressing. Fran is so into it and just gets thrilled that I enjoy it so much! We will definitely be doing quite a bit more of this in the months and years to come!!

A wonderful dinner, a wonderful experience and a fabulous opportunity to go out with my wife, just us girls!
