We have not told very many people about Julieanne. One set of friends that we did tell have been after us to come over and go out as a group. Well, we finally got all our schedules in line and decided that it was time for them to meet Julieanne. They have been to my web site and have seen pictures on-line, but as you are well aware, meeting in person is just so different!
We told our daughter that we were going out and that she should make plans to go to spend the night at a friends house. We do this for two reasons. First, it is better than trying to convince a fifteen year old that she needs a babysitter! Second, as she has not yet seen Julieanne, it is easier for me to get dressed in the house if she is not here. Well, that didn't fly, she didn't want to go to a friends. So, on to plan B!
I gathered all my clothes, make-up and other needed accessories and put them in my gym bag. Out to the car and off we went. Stopping in a local store parking lot with a dark corner, we started the transformation. I have never gotten dressed in a car before, so it was quite stressful! After getting dressed and doing my make-up as best I could, off we went to our friends.
I was not nervous at all when we arrived. (I think I am coming to terms with this!) We went in and were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm! They tried to be cool about my being dressed, but I could tell that they were surprised and fascinated. We had some wonderful snacks and refreshments while getting caught up on all the current doings.
Trying to decide on where to go, we went through the list of several places. None of them turned out to be to our liking, besides, it was already getting late. So, we decided to hang out and just talk. That was the best decision that we could have made! It was a wonderful evening and we all had a great time. Next time we'll go out clubbing...
