shane’s story - chapter five
Both Nana and Georgina went along with the boys to London and Glasgow. They made a girls-weekend out of it and went shopping. Shane was so pleased. Nana had been very isolated all the time she had been here, and she and Georgina had only met a few times. So Shane was extra pleased to see those two girls have a nice weekend.
Both Nicky and Shane used all the interviews on TV and in magazines to put it into official attention that they were going out with Nana and Georgina. Of course all the fans had known about Georgina from the very beginning, but announcing it officially and at the same time announce the wedding plans, were big news at the moment.
Shane hadn’t asked Nana to become his wife yet. Every second he was so tempted to, but he wanted to wait till Christmas Eve, where the whole family was gathered at the farm. It was hard to keep it in though.
"Shane, you’re dreaming." Nicky nudged his shoulder. "What are you thinking off?" "Were you nervous before asking Georgina to marry you?" Nicky chuckled. "Are you gonna ask Nana?" Shane nodded. "On Christmas Eve at my parents’ place. I’ve bought a ring." Shane looked nervous at him.
Nicky nodded understanding and gave him a certain look. "I was nervous, but I never doubted she would say yes." Shane smiled a bit. "Neither do I. I’m just. I want the situation to be perfect." Nicky nodded. He sure understood that part. "The hard part is to wait for the moment you have set, right?" Nicky looked very intensely at him. Shane nodded.
"Want some advice?" Shane nodded. "Ditch the Christmas Eve plan. Do it when you inside your heart feel the moment to be right." Shane thought a little about that one. It felt right. He looked at Nicky. "Thanks. Maybe I will."
Sunday night the moment was perfect. After having returned from Glasgow at evening dinner time, they had all eaten at McDonalds, then gone each to their own. Nana had been all chattering and playful, like a spring new foal. She had obviously had a wonderful weekend and found a good friend in Georgina. Her cheery and playful mood had moved onto Shane too, so despite being tired, they found time to fool around and make love.
Afterwards they stayed in bed, looking at all the sweet baby outfits Nana had bought in London. "Why have you bought so much in blue colours, Nana?" Shane looked affectionately at her and kissed her shoulder. She looked at all the stuff. Then she shrugged.
Shane stroke his hand over her shoulder. "I had the same dream occurring night after night last week, that you’re carrying a boy." She looked into his eyes and didn’t know what to say, so she just kissed him.
Shane lay down and pulled her close. He stroke her hair over her shoulder and followed his urge. "Nana, will you marry me?" His heart was pounding like mad. Nana nodded and tears found way to her eyes.
"Don’t cry Nana, don’t cry." Shane wiped her cheeks and kissed her. "Will you really marry me?" Nana nodded again. "Oh my God, Nana, if only you knew how happy you have just made me." He kissed her again, and soon they once again forgot the world around them. Nothing else was present - but their love. |
