chapter two
"Dad - what's going in Mr.Nelson's house? I saw some of his furniture out on the road." asked Kellie very intrigued. Nelson's family had been their neighbours since Kellie's family moved from Sligo. "They are moving to Surrey," answered her dad while reading the newspaper. "Seems like the new neighbours are moving in today too." "That's fast....have you met them?" Kellie continued asking. "No. Why don't you go and check them out yourself?" replied Kellie's dad. So she walked out of the house and had a look in front of the next door's house.
"Hi, we just moved here. I'm Mark Feehily," said the young man behind Kellie. When she turned to him, she saw a tall lad with a pair of gorgeous blue eyes, pink-ish cheeks and short dark hair. 'He's the type of guy in my dreams!' Kellie thought to herself. "Hiya...I'm Kellie West. I live in the house next to you." said Kellie, "By the way, you said 'we', where are the rest of your family?" "Oh no! I live with my friends. There are 5 of us." replied Mark. "That's cool.....um, are you free tomorrow evening?" asked Kellie. "Yep," answered Mark, looking a bit curious. "Maybe you and your friends can have dinner at our house?" replied Kellie. "Will your parents be OK with that?" wondered Mark. "No problem. Actually we always invite our new neighbours for dinner, so we can get to know them well." smiled Kellie. "All right, we'll be there. What time anyway?" "7 o'clock," replied Kellie. Then she heard her mum calling her name. "I'd better go. Mum needs me now. Nice meeting ya Mark," smiled Kellie. "All right! See you tomorrow at 7," said Mark as he waved her goodbye. "See ya." Kellie waved back then went inside to the kitchen.
"Mum, I invited our new neighbours for dinner tomorrow" said Kellie, opening the fridge. "You already met them?" Kellie's mum asked. "Yeah but only one of them. There are 5 peeps in the house," replied Kellie as she ate some grapes. "They must be a nice family..." said her mum, putting the chicken into the oven. "Ummm...actually, they are 5 friends who stay together," replied Kellie, searching for something more to eat in the fridge. "The guy I met has a Sligo accent!!!! I don't know if he recognized my accent or not" "Your Sligo accent is gone now," said her mum. "I guess...I'd better call Anna and invite her for tomorrow's meal." said Kellie running to the living room. She picked up the phone....
"Hello,Anna?" "Yeah, is that Kellie?" asked Anna. "Yeah. We've got new neighbours!!!!!" said Kellie excitedly. "OK ... and, erm ... WHY exactly is that so exciting?" asked Anna very curiously. "Let just say, tomorrow night come and have dinner at my house and you'll see!!!" replied Kellie still excited. "All right. See you then. Bye" "Bye." Kellie hung up the phone.
