We're worlds apart

chapter six

"Hello, Sara?" The voice on the end of the phone said. Sara knew automatically who it was, that Irish accent was a dead give away. He sounded so nervous. "Yeah it is..." Sara couldn't think of anything to say. Sara just had too many emotions fighting against each other inside her.

"Erm.. This is Shane, I want to apologise..." Shane began. "Look I have heard your apology from Angel and really I don't care. You shouldn't have laughed at me no matter how famous you are, it's just not right" Sarah said on the verge of tears but she knew that she had to be strong. " Don't need this, I don't need you." Silence feel on the line but then Shane admitted something that that would change Sara's perspective of the whole situation. "I need you" Shane mumbled.

"You what?" Sarah said half dropping the phone, "You need me! You drunk or something?" Shane laughed but then fell silent, "No seriously, I haven't been able to stop thinking about you since the hotel and your mate ... erm lets leave what she was doing out of this"
"Shane, do you really wanna be admitting this to me? You are famous and I am, well I am just me" Sara said, still not feeling totally comfortable with the whole topic of conversation. "I am just me too, I just happen to be in a couple of magazines and had a couple of singles out."
A couple ... anyway you know it isn't that simple, you know that it would never..." Before Sara could finish the sentence there was a shout from Shane's end of the line to get ready for a radio interview. "Sara I am sorry, I have to go, can we meet up and talk about this please." Shane said apologetically.

"Is there really anything to discuss"
"I hope so Sara, please meet me at the hotel tomorrow at about 8. Please?" Shane said hopefully. "Yeah sure" Sara felt happier then she had felt in a long long time. She felt that maybe her life would get better from this moment on. No matter how much she denied her feelings to the outside world, she was so into Shane deep down. She just worried that if she cared for him, he would leave too, like her mother had. She didn't want to run that risk, but she knew she had to. She realised that she had to apologise and thank one person and one person only. "Shane I will see you tomorrow, bye"
"Bye" and with that their conversation ended.

Sara quickly dialled the number, the excitement inside her was building up and she was ready to explode. "You will never guess who phoned! Oh ... actually you probably will but can you believe it he wants ... Oh hi Mrs Phoenix, erm sorry about that can I speak with Angel please." Sara's excitement had melted into pure embarrassment. "Hello?" Sara knew that that had to be Angel. "Hi Ang, it's Sara, I wanna apologise for everything I was being a complete deutz and well I am sorry" Sara said sincerely. "No everything is forgiven just tell me about what he said"
"How?"
"Erm well my mum got most of the story" Angel said laughing out loud. "Thanks! Well..." Sara and Angel continued to talk for most of the night about everything, Sara repeating Shane and her conversation word for word, apologises were accepted and arguments forgotten. "Will you come with me?" Sara asked. "Of course I wouldn't miss it for the world, and you had better introduce me to Kian"
"Great there you go again. I am trying to sort out my love life and all you can think about is getting into some poor souls trousers".
"Hey thanks, I did say introduce me to him, not his bedroom, but now you come to mention it..."

"Angel, come on" Sara said laughing. Sarah felt that things may finally going well for her but the more she thought about the next day the more uncertain she felt, deep down she had this gut feeling that nothing was going to go the way she hoped.
