We're worlds apart

chapter nine

"Taxi" Angel screamed jumping into the road the make sure that the taxi would stop. She grabbed hold of Sara's arm and dragged her into the taxi before her. Sara was still in a state of shock. "Follow that car, cool always wanted to say that." Angel said smiling. She turned to Sara who by this time had her face in her hands, the smile slipped from her face.

"Where's it going?" the taxi cab driver asked. "Don't have a clue mate so you had better keep up with it."
"Well as long as you are paying," The driver said increasing his speed, until they were only one car away from Westlife's preva. "I was scared of loosing him, even before I had him. I feared that if I became too involved with him, he would go away, just like mum did. I couldn't take that, not a second time, especially not Shane leaving. I felt like he was the one person who could save me. Who could make my world worth wild again. Give me hope for the future. Stupid eh?" Sara said finally with her elbows resting on her knees with her fingers running through her hair. "I should have taken the risk, but no. Instead I end up pushing him away". Sara looks up revealing tear soaked cheeks, finally coming to the realisation that they were in a taxicab.

"Where on earth are we going?" Sara asked, looking confused, in a way that looked like she had just woken up. "We, no, sorry, you are gonna go talk to Shane" Angel said strongly. "Yeah right, like he wants to talk to me after what I just did."
"Havin' boyfriend trouble darlin'?" The taxi cab driver said, turning his head to face them. Both Sara and Angel turned to look at him in horror as he had been eavesdropping on their conversation. "Can you just concentrate on the road please." Angel said on the verge of sounding rude. "Well sorry for speakin'! It's just that it sounds like you really like 'im, so go for it!" He said stubbornly ignoring what Angel had just said. Angel looked annoyed but turned to see that Sara was smiling so decided not to say a word. Sara knew that Shane was worth fighting for, at best she owed him an explanation.

"I love him," Sara said with a smile. With tears in her eyes she repeated, "I love him" Angel just sat there smiling. They both knew that this declaration of love was useless unless it was returned. "What am I going to do?"
"Well maybe you should..."
"Erm, I'm sorry to tell you this girls" The taxi cab driver interrupted Angel, who by now was getting fed up of not being able to finish a sentence. "But I have sort of lost the car"
"Please say you are lying!" Sara said looking in front to see that the car had in fact vanished. For the next five minutes there was frantic searching. In that short time Sara saw her life with Shane slip from her grasp. The taxi turned back to see whether they had lost them back there and then Sara shouted, "Stop" and jumped out of the car before it had fully stopped. Angel followed her, deliberately forgetting to pay the driver, she didn't have any money to pay him anyway.

Angel and Sara just kept running away from the cries from the driver to pay. Sara's heart was beating faster and faster. So much was going on inside her head and heart. They were both telling her to do what the other said. She was confused but just kept running. Sara was the first out of her and Angel to reach the car and to her total disappointment Shane was nowhere to be seen. "Shit" Sara screamed, "What am I gonna do I don't even know where he is!" She said a loud to herself. Sara suddenly heard laughter coming from behind her. She turned to see Kian and Mark laughing, with Shane next to them walking with his eyes to the ground. As Kian and Mark saw Sara they suddenly stopped in their tracks, as did their laughter. Shane looked up to see what had happened and he himself stopped when he saw who was standing in front of him. Shane looked deep into Sara's eyes, saw the hurt the pain but turned round and started to walk away from her, but was stopped by the arms of both Kian and Mark. They smiled at him and Shane turned back round to Sara and saw the tear running down her cheek.

"Hey, God Sara you can run..." Angel said finally reaching Sara. "Opps" She said realising what she had just stepped into. Angel looked at Kian and Mark, gestured that they should maybe leave them alone. Still out of breath she said, "so Kian, Mark you gonna show my around?" And with that all three of them linked arms and walked off leaving Sara and Shane to sort it out alone, not that Angel was complaining.

Sara and Shane just looked at each other not daring to say a word. Sara attempted to say something, her mouth moved but no sound was made. She tried again but still her over filling emotions were preventing her from admitting her feelings to Shane. Shane was also fighting an internal emotional battle. Shane looked at Sara, taking a deep breath attempted to say something, but for some reason stopped. He looked away and then back at Sara whose eyes were still fixed on his. Took another deep breath and said, "Do you really hate me?"
