| Chapter 3 “You know?” said Kian “ I cant stop thinking about Becki and what happened to her face.” He carried on. “Look mate, if she had wanted us to know the truth she would have told us” answered Shane. “I know, I know but maybe she would have if we had kept on talking to her but Nicks came out, maybe I should go round and see her?” Kian questioned. “Kian I reckon you’re in love dude!!” laughed Bryan. “Fine Bryan if you want to joke about the situation then do it. But I’m really worried about her, she seemed really nice and I don’t want her to get hurt. Please Shane, will you come with me?” “Oh ok then just if it will make you happy, ill just get my jacket.” Kian and Shane went next door to see Becki whilst Bryan phoned Kerry. Mark and Nicky watched the footie match on the telly. “Oh er hi guys….” Said Becki puzzled. She didn’t really want guests she just wanted to be on her own with Rach and just hide out until the huge bruise on her face went. “What are ye doing here? Im pleased to see ye” she said forcing a smile. “ We were just on our way to town and we didn’t know whether you wanted out?” said Kian lying. “Oh no thankyou, thanks for asking though.” There was a long silent pause then Becki said “You’re welcome to come in if you want but my best friend Rachel is coming but you have met her already.” “Oh yeah I remember her” said Shane feeling all weird inside. As the boys went into Becki’s living room, there were pictures of her and Rach all over but one picture was drawn to Shane’s attention, “That’s a nice picture Becki, when was that that taken?” Shane asked. “Oh it was taken two years ago on holiday in Europe.” Becki answered In the picture there was Becki with Duncan and Rach with some guy, suddenly Shane’s heart sank. “Who’s the guy that Rachel is with?” he asked. “Its Lee, they went out. Do ye both want a coffee?” “Yeah please luv, so Becki tell me are Rach and this Lee still going out?” said Shane hoping the answer was gonna make him very happy. “No not anymore” Becki replied. “at one point they were inseparable, they did everything together. They were childhood sweethearts and since they were 12 they were ‘engaged’ but two weeks after that holiday she caught him with another girl.” Everyone sat down in the living room and made small talk about the weather, sport, music, etc. Kian and Becki really had a lot in common and Shane began to feel left out. About an hour after the boys arrived at Becki’s, a car pulled up and it was Rach. “I’ll get it” cried Shane, he ran to the door and started talking to Rach. They seemed to hit it off almost straight away. “Look Shane, I must go into town later I need a present for my sister. Becks was coming with me but it seems a shame to pull her away from Kian. Do you wanna come with me?” she hoped he would say yes she really liked him. “Sure I’d love to Rach, er…er….er I was wondering? Do you wanna catch a movie sometime?” Shane asked. “YES!!!!…” said Rach then realising how she sounded, she shrugged her shoulders and said “well yeah cool!” The two of them set off to the town. Kian and Becki were that much into conversation with other they didn’t even realize that Rach and Shane had gone. “Look at the time?” Becki exclaimed, “its almost 5 o clock! the shops will be closing!” “Ah well it don’t matter” Kian shrugged. “Kian… ye never were going shopping were you?” Becki asked feeling as though she had known the truth all along. “No I’m really sorry Becki, but I was really worried about you, I know you didn’t get that bruise from a door did you? And I really like you I have really enjoyed today, talking to you getting to know you. Are you angry?” Kian asked feeling slighty bad. “No, no, not at all, that was really sweet what you said and no I didn’t get that bruise from a door, the truth is the guy you see in that picture with me, Rach and Lee? Well he’s called Duncan, my boyfriend” “OH?” Kian felt down and now he felt like a fool. “I bet you really love him?” “NO, NO Kian he WAS my boyfriend until the day yesterday, when he hit me.” Becki said, “but please don’t tell anyone I feel so stupid only Rach knows and of course Duncan. “IM GONNA KILL HIM!!” Kian roared. “HOW COULD HE DO THAT TO YOU?? WHERE DOES HE LIVE ILL KILL HIM!!” “NO NO KIAN PLEASE” Becki begged “PLEASE HE’D KILL ME IF HE KNEW I’D TOLD ANYONE….let alone the guy I think I’m falling in love with” “THAT’S NOT THE POINT BE… you’re in love with me?” Kian asked. “Yeah, I guess, I am.” Becki nodded. “I feel the same Becki” Kian smiled as they moved in for a kiss |
