The World of Tornadoes
Introduction
Tornadoes are violently rotating columns of air in contact with the ground and the pendant, or part of the clouds, of a thunderstorm. They are typically in funnel-shaped and with their speeds varying from 110 to 200 MPH, they can cause massive damage and destruction wherever they appear. People need to be prepared for this destructive force of nature.
Your group will take on the roles of Dorothy and her companions in the Wizard of Oz to investigate tornadoes and develop a tornado safety plan so that people will not be swept away to the Land of Oz like Dorothy.
