FIG 2: Basketball @ WGSHA NEWS The last news about the hostel was that it was on fire! Or at least close to that - some enterprising 'shites had arranged for bombs from the region (even from corners of Udupi). Chaos hit the hostels and the the college as they went off night after night for almost three weeks and what was funnier was watching chimps (Nambiar) and Tharkan trying to do something about it. There was some serious planning involved and so fingers couldn't be pointed at anyone. This left even Anis and the rest of the sekuritee with their heads between their knees.
INFORMATION The hostels are all in one campus. Theres the G block, the B block for the girls and the C block and the C-3,4,5 blocks for the boys. Of course some boys when high think it alright to walk into the girls hostel ;) The hostel provides gym facilities separately for the boys and girls(?). There are also decent messing facilities provided at the boys and girls blocks. Sports facilities are provided as well - there is the Volleyball Court, the Cricket practice pitch, the basketball court and Wgsha Greens. ( but these greens are not meant for golf!)
WHAT THE STUDENTS SAY Hostel life at WGSHA is cool once u get used to all the pricks around the hostel. Then u know who to talk to and who to stay away from. Some people defer in thought - they feel its necessary to be nice to everyone....anyways ill leave that to personal opinion. Girls hostel is good :) the only bad thing about it being that boys are not allowed. but the building is newer and the rooms are good. Boys hostel is good too - again it'd be much better if girls were allowed. The warden "Nambiar" sucks and so does the rest of his security troop. There are some shitty rules as well that take a little bit of getting used to. But remember they are for your own good - "the industry is like that." But hey the hostel is not all that bad is it? There are a lot of nice people to meet and to get to know. You can do that best on the Greens ;) One can stay within the rules and still have a good time in the hostels. Of course there are loop holes everywhere and where u cant find any - make them yourself. I know this because i still know a lot of people in the hostel who take submarine rides every now and then.
WHAT THE COLLEGE SAYS They say a lot of things. But upon arguing when they run out of things to say they turn to the good ol' rescue line -"THE INDUSTRY IS LIKE THAT ONLY................"
MY ADVICE Like i have mentioned earlier one can have a whole lot of fun staying within the hostel and even within the rules. For those who have never stayed in hostel before this can be quite an experience. Be careful of your stuff and keep your room locked at all times. There are some kinky people out there - last year someone stole my checkered flag undees!! You are going to get home-sick every once in a while but u have to find a way to get you through that -" i get by with a little help from my friends, i get high with a little help from my friends"
